Aquaculture using floating net cage (KJA) systems in Waduk Darma faces a major challenge related to limited water quality monitoring, which is still conducted manually and irregularly. This condition increases the risk of delayed detection of dissolved oxygen (DO) depletion and environmental changes, potentially leading to fish stress and mass mortality that can cause economic losses for fish farmers. This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of fish farmers in monitoring water quality through the implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based monitoring system utilizing LoRa communication, which is suitable for areas with limited network infrastructure. The method applied in this program is Participatory Action Research (PAR), which actively involves community partners in all stages of the activity, including problem identification, action planning, technology implementation, and evaluation. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ understanding, with a 46% increase in post-test scores compared to pre-test results, reflecting enhanced technological literacy and awareness of the importance of water quality in aquaculture practices. In addition, the level of participant satisfaction reached an average score of 4.56 out of 5, indicating that the implemented technology is user-friendly, relevant, and well accepted by the community. The system enables real-time monitoring of water quality, allowing farmers to respond more quickly to environmental changes. Overall, this program not only improves technical skills but also fosters awareness and independence among community partners in utilizing technology to support more adaptive, data-driven, and sustainable aquaculture practices.
