Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Community Development and Innovation (JCDI) will undergo plagiarism screening using similarity detection software before being sent to reviewers.

JCDI upholds academic integrity and publication ethics by ensuring that all published articles are original works and free from plagiarism, data fabrication, and unethical publication practices.

Manuscripts submitted to JCDI must meet the following similarity requirements:

  • Maximum overall similarity index: 25% (excluding bibliography and quotations)

  • Similarity from a single source should not exceed 3%

Manuscripts that exceed the permitted similarity threshold may be:

  • returned to the authors for revision,

  • rejected during the initial editorial screening, or

  • rejected after editorial evaluation if plagiarism is identified.

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Direct copying of text without proper citation

  • Substantial reproduction of another author’s work without acknowledgement

  • Improper paraphrasing without an appropriate citation

  • Self-plagiarism or duplicate publication

  • Use of data, figures, or ideas without permission or attribution

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all sources are properly cited and referenced according to the journal’s citation style.

The editorial team reserves the right to reject manuscripts suspected of plagiarism or unethical publication practices at any stage of the review and publication process.
