Author Guidelines
A. General Information
Journal of Community Development and Innovation (JCDI) publishes peer-reviewed articles related to community engagement, community empowerment, innovation, applied technology, digital transformation, and sustainable societal development.
The journal accepts manuscripts written in:
- English
- Bahasa Indonesia
Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
All manuscripts submitted to JCDI will undergo an initial editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer review process.
B. Manuscript Preparation
Authors are required to prepare manuscripts using the official JCDI article template.
General Formatting
- Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
- Paper size: A4
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Margin: 2.5 cm on all sides
- Manuscripts should be written in a single-column format.
- Recommended manuscript length: 4,000–7,000 words, including references.
The maximum file size for submission is 10 MB.
C. Manuscript Structure
1. Title
The title should be concise, informative, and clearly reflect the content of the manuscript.
2. Author Information
The manuscript should include:
- Full author names (without academic titles)
- Affiliation
- City and country
- Corresponding author email address
3. Abstract
The abstract should:
- Be written in the same language as the manuscript
- Consist of 150–250 words
- Briefly describe the background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions
- Avoid citations and uncommon abbreviations
4. Keywords
Provide 3–5 keywords or phrases arranged alphabetically.
D. Article Content
1. Introduction
The introduction should:
- Explain the background and significance of the community issue
- Present relevant previous studies
- Describe the novelty or contribution of the program/activity
- Clearly state the objectives of the community engagement activity
2. Methods
This section should explain:
- The methods or approaches used
- Community participation and involvement
- Location and duration of activities
- Data collection and analysis techniques
- Tools, technologies, or media used in the program
3. Results and Discussion
This section should:
- Present the outcomes and impacts of the community engagement activities
- Include analysis and interpretation of findings
- Explain community participation and empowerment results
- Discuss sustainability and innovation aspects where relevant
Tables, figures, and photographs must be clear, relevant, and properly cited within the text.
4. Conclusion
The conclusion should summarize:
- Main findings
- Community impacts and benefits
- Recommendations for future programs or activities
E. Acknowledgment
Authors may acknowledge institutions, organizations, funding agencies, or individuals who contributed to the implementation of the community engagement activities.
F. References
References must:
- Follow APA 7th Edition style
- Be arranged alphabetically
- Primarily consist of recent and relevant scholarly sources
- Match all in-text citations
Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as:
- Mendeley
- Zotero
- EndNote
G. Publication Ethics
Authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript is free from plagiarism
- Data and information are presented honestly and accurately
- All authors have approved the submitted version
- Proper citations and acknowledgments are provided
Manuscripts with indications of plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical practices will be rejected.
H. Similarity Check
All submissions will undergo plagiarism screening using similarity-checking software.
The recommended maximum similarity index is 20% (excluding references and quotations).
I. Article Processing Charges (APC)
JCDI applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) only for accepted manuscripts.
- Internal Authors (Universitas Kuningan): IDR 100,000
- External Authors: IDR 200,000
There are no submission fees or review fees.
J. Submission
Manuscripts must be submitted through the online journal system available on the JCDI website.
Before submission, authors are encouraged to ensure that the manuscript follows the journal template and complies with all submission requirements.
